Sew Very Merry

IMG_6413web

I purchase trims from this great local upholstery shop called Chintz and Prints.  Last week, I went in to look around at the treasures, and the shop owners kindly allowed my small companion, Courtney, to rummage through their remnant bin and find some treasures of her own.  Later that day she wore her new fashion design and has setup a fashion designer corner in her room.

So I made this little Christmas tag, which I'm going to attach to a card and give to the owners for inspiring both of our creativity.

The little antique sewing machine stamp is from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  I stamped this and heat embossed with Ranger's Queen's Gold embossing powder.  Then I colored this with Copic Sketch Markers in the Cool Greys, and a couple of #8-9 Violets.

The red/gold paper is from Hambly Studios.  The bottom trim is from Chintz & Prints.  The gold metallic punched ribbon is from Renaissance Art Stamps.

The knotted ribbon trim at the top is from the Remnants line from Rebecca Sower which I found on a lucky shopping trip in Hilton Head this past summer.

I 'threaded' the machine with a gold thread and placed a small piece of 'fabric' gold strand paper in the sewing machine.

I used a vintage clip on the top through a piece of cotton ribbon, which I stamped with 'Merry'.
